Guided small-group journeys

Small groups, led by the people who live here.

Walking, cycling and cultural journeys across Albania and the Western Balkans, run by our own guides — with groups capped by the size of the mountain huts rather than by a spreadsheet.

Groups of 8 — 16 · Solo travellers welcomeGuided by our own team
Capped by the huts

Our Alps trek takes eight because the mountain hut has eight beds. Not a marketing number — a physical one.

Our own guides

Not freelancers hired for the week. The same leaders, season after season, on routes they grew up on.

Solo travellers welcome

Many of our guests travel alone — and we'll pair you with another solo traveller so there's no single supplement.

Or take the whole trip

Any guided tour can run privately, on your dates, for your own party — because we operate it ourselves.

What a guide is for

A guide is not the person who walks in front.

It’s the one who knows which pass still holds snow in June, which family will cook late for a slow group, and which shepherd will invite you in for coffee if you greet him properly. For thirty-five years, international operators have brought their travellers to Albania — and when they do, our guides lead them. Booking with us puts you with the same people, on the same routes, without the layer in between.

The guided tours

Four journeys, one team behind all of them.

How big is the group, really

Capped by the beds, not by the spreadsheet.

Most operators say “small groups” and leave it there. Here are ours, and the reason for each number.

Albanian Alps Trek
8
The mountain hut on the high pastures has eight beds.
Albania Cycling Tour
16
One support vehicle, one guide, and roads quiet enough for it.
Albania & Kosovo Discovery
16
Small enough to fit around a family's table at lunch.
Family Adventure
Your own family
Private by default — from two travellers upward.
Travelling alone

Coming on your own is completely normal here.

A good share of our guests book alone, and on a group of eight or twelve that stops being unusual by the first dinner. You will not be the odd one out, and you will not be left standing on your own at the trailhead — making sure of that is part of the guide’s job.

On the practical side: tell us you’re happy to share and we’ll pair you with another solo traveller of the same gender, so there’s no single supplement to pay. Prefer your own room? That’s available too — just say so when you book.

A day with a group

Organised, but not regimented.

The usual worry about a guided trip is being marched around behind somebody holding a flag. That is not what this is.

Breakfast when the group is ready

Not at a fixed hour decided in an office. If everyone wants another coffee, everyone has another coffee.

The pace of the person at the back

Your guide walks or rides with whoever is slowest that day. Nobody is left strung out on a hillside.

Afternoons that are yours

In the towns, the group breaks up. Sleep, swim, wander, or follow the guide to the place they'd go themselves.

Dinner together, if you like

Most evenings the group eats as one — but nobody minds if you'd rather take a book somewhere quiet.

Rather not share the trip at all?

Every tour on this page can run privately, on your dates, for your own party — the same guides, the same guesthouses, nobody else in the group. We operate them ourselves, so there is no head office to ask.
