Theth Day Tour with a private guide. Theth is a small village in northern Albania, protected by the Albanian government. The area around the village is of outstanding beauty.

The village is nestled between the Shala Mountains and has extraordinary views. An isolated place with a lot of green vegetation and a great landscape.

Theth is a small village in the north of Albania. The community is situated right in the middle of a national park, an area known for its lush and mountainous natural beauty.

While you are there, start your day walking toward the Church of Thethi. The church, dating from 1892, is an Albanian landmark. Situated against the backdrop of the Albanian Alps, it is one of the most visited sites in the area.

Theth has a predominantly Catholic population, evident in the architecture and culture. In fact, many of Albania’s most famous writers were priests from Thethi. Their work has contributed immensely to the education of the local population.

Theth Day Tour – Exploring Theth

Explore the untouched park of Theth. The locals that live in the village have lived there all their lives, and are very friendly. The sound of the birds and the river will leave you breathless.

The Waterfall of Grunas. It takes about 1 hour to walk from the locked-in tower to Grunas Waterfall. The waterfall is about 30 m high and is considered as one of the most beautiful natural monuments in Theth for which it has received a protection status by the Albanian Government. After this refreshing visit, we walk down to Grunas Canyon on our way to the Blue Eye.

The canyon is about 60 m deep and about 2 km long. After this short visit, we continue walking to the Blue Eye, a big pool of deep blue water formed by the Black river flowing down the mountain. This pool is about 100 m² and about 5 m deep. Keep in mind that even during the summer the water temperature is really cold if you intend to swim there.
