The Via Dinarica Blue Line Adventure is a comprehensive 10-day journey that promises an unforgettable blend of awe-inspiring landscapes, vibrant cultural heritage, thrilling outdoor activities, and tantalizing culinary delights. This tour offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore four captivating Balkan countries: Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania, all connected by the Via Dinarica hiking trail.
Our journey begins with the stunning landscapes of Bosnia Herzegovina, where we will hike the highest peak, Maglic Mountain, and admire the tranquil beauty of Trnovačko Lake. The journey continues with a cultural exploration of the Lukomir village and continues with a hike toward Umoljani village, where the charm of traditional life still thrives.
We then proceed to experience the thrill of rafting in the Neretva River before immersing ourselves in the rich history and architecture of the UNESCO-protected town of Mostar. Our adventure doesn’t stop here: we head towards the majestic Kravica Waterfall and the world-renowned city of Dubrovnik, also known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’.
Next, we hike the scenic trails of Srd Mountain in Dubrovnik and then Vrmac Mountain and Kotor Ladder in Montenegro. This stunning natural escapade is topped off with a visit to the historic Njegos Mausoleum.
Finally, we journey into the heart of Albania, where we will enjoy a delightful food tour at the renowned Mrizi i Zanave, near the city of Lezha. This meticulously planned itinerary offers a balance of physical challenges, cultural immersion, and gastronomic indulgence, making it a truly distinctive and comprehensive tour of the Via Dinarica Blue Line. Next we will take a guided walking tour of Sarajevo's Old Town, including highlights such as the Sebilj Fountain, Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, and Baščaršija Bazaar

After breakfast at the hotel, we will be picked up by our private driver and guide and transferred to the national park of Sutjeska. The journey will take around 3 hours, with plenty of beautiful scenery along the way.
Upon arrival at the park, we will begin our hike to Trnovačko Lake, one of the most stunning mountain lakes in the region. The hike will take around 3-4 hours, depending on the pace of the group, and will involve some challenging uphill climbs and rocky terrain. Those who are up for a greater challenge can choose to continue hiking to the summit of Maglic, the highest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the rest of the group continues on to the lake.
At the lake, we will take a break to enjoy the stunning views and have a snack before continuing on our hike back to the starting point.
In the evening, we will return in Sarajevo. Free time to explore the city on our own, and dinner as preferred.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will be picked up by our private driver and guide and transferred to the village of Umoljani, where we will begin our circle hiking tour. Along the way, our guide will provide theoretical and practical preparations for the hike, including safety guidelines and information about the flora, fauna, and geology of the area. The hike will take around 4 hours, with some steep uphill and downhill sections, but the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys will make it well worth the effort.
Upon arrival in Lukomir, we will have a guided tour of the village, which is the highest and last traditional Bosnian village in the country. We'll learn about the unique customs, traditions, and architecture of the Dinaric highlanders who have lived in this region for centuries, and see examples of the ancient tombstones known as stećci, which date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. We'll also have the chance to meet some of the local residents and learn about their daily lives, which still revolve around farming, herding, and other traditional practices.
For lunch, we will enjoy a traditional Bosnian meal made from locally sourced, organic ingredients, in one of the village's cozy family-owned restaurants.
After lunch, we will travel to Konjic, where we will have free time to explore the town's historic center, visit the local museums, or simply relax by the river.
In the evening, we will have dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night at Hotel Garden City, a comfortable and modern hotel located in the heart of Konjic.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will meet our guide and driver and travel to the starting point of our rafting adventure on the Neretva River, one of the most beautiful and thrilling rivers in Europe. Our guide will provide us with all necessary equipment, safety instructions, and tips for navigating the rapids. The rafting trip will take around 3-4 hours, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the stunning scenery, swim in the crystal-clear water, and have fun with your fellow travelers.
In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Mostar, the charming historic town famous for its iconic bridge and Ottoman architecture. We'll have a guided walking tour of the town, which will include visits to the Old Bridge, the Old Bazaar, the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, and other historic landmarks. We'll also have some free time to explore the town on our own, shop for souvenirs, or sample some local delicacies.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and depart from Mostar towards Kravica Waterfall, one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the region. The drive will take around an hour, and along the way, we'll have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
Upon arrival at the Kravica Waterfall, we'll have some free time to explore the area, take a swim in the refreshing water, or simply relax and admire the scenery. The waterfall is approximately 25 meters high and forms a beautiful natural pool at its base.
After enjoying the waterfall, we'll continue our journey towards Dubrovnik, the stunning coastal city known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". The drive will take around 2-3 hours, and along the way, we'll cross the border into Croatia and have some stops for taking photos and stretching our legs.
Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, we'll have a guided walking tour of the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved medieval walled cities in the world. The tour will include visits to the famous City Walls, the Stradun, the Rector's Palace, the Cathedral, and other historic landmarks. We'll also have some free time to explore the town on our own, walk along the promenade.

After breakfast, we'll start the day with a hike to Srđ mountain, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea. The hike will take approximately 1.5 hours, and it's a moderate level trail suitable for most fitness levels. We'll have plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the stunning scenery from the top.
For lunch, we'll stop at Konavoski Dvori, a beautiful restaurant set in the Konavle Valley, known for its traditional food and beautiful natural surroundings.
After lunch, we'll drive towards the border between Croatia and Montenegro, where we'll need to go through the border procedures. Then, we'll continue our journey towards Kotor, passing through the picturesque Bay of Kotor. This is one of the most scenic drives in the region, with spectacular views of the fjord-like bay and its charming coastal towns.
Once we'll arrive at our hotel in Kotor, the charming and historic town located at the foot of the mountain, we'll have some time to relax and freshen up before our walking tour of the town.
Our local guide will take us on a leisurely walk through the winding streets and alleys of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its medieval architecture, fortifications, and cultural landmarks. We'll see the impressive St. Tryphon Cathedral, the Maritime Museum, the Clock Tower, and other historic landmarks. We'll also have the opportunity to climb the walls of the Old Town and enjoy panoramic views of the town and the bay.
In the evening, we'll gather for dinner at a local restaurant, where we can sample more of the local cuisine and wines, and relax in the company of our fellow travellers.

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll start our day with a hike up Vrmac Mountain, which separates the Kotor Bay and Tivat Bay. The Vrmac ridge offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and is known for its natural beauty and diverse flora and fauna.
We'll start driving to Vrmac fort and from there hike the ridge of Vrmac Mountain where we'll have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding mountains.
The hike takes about 5 hours.
After the hike, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant in Tivat or Kotor, and then have some free time to explore the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved medieval architecture.
In the evening, you can enjoy the remainder of the day at your own leisure having dinner at a local restaurant and enjoy some of the delicious local seafood and wine.

After breakfast, we'll depart from Kotor and head to Njegusi, a small village located in the mountains. Here, we'll visit the Njegusi Mausoleum, the final resting place of Montenegro's most famous ruler, Petar II Petrovic-Njegos. The mausoleum offers stunning views of the surrounding mountainous landscape and is a great spot for photography.
Next, we'll continue on to Cetinje, the former royal capital of Montenegro. We'll explore the town's historic centre, which is full of beautiful old buildings and museums. We'll also visit the Cetinje Monastery, one of the most important religious sites in Montenegro.
After lunch in Cetinje, we'll cross the border into Albania and head to Shkodra, a historic city located on the shores of Lake Shkodra.
In the evening, we'll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and have some free time to explore the city on our own.

After breakfast, we will begin our day with a walking tour of Shkodra, a charming city located in northern Albania. During the tour, we will visit the historical landmarks of the city, including the Rozafa Castle, a castle that dates back to the Illyrian period, and the Ebu Beker Mosque, which is one of the oldest mosques in Albania.
Next, we will visit the Mask Factory, a unique and creative place where local artists produce traditional Albanian masks. We will have the opportunity to see the artists at work and learn about the history and cultural significance of these masks.
For lunch, we will visit Mrizi i Zanave, a farm-to-table restaurant located in the countryside near the city of Lezhe. This restaurant is known for its organic and locally sourced ingredients and its traditional Albanian cuisine.
After lunch, we will travel to Tirana, the capital city of Albania. In the afternoon, we will have a guided walk of Tirana, during which we will explore the city's most important landmarks and monuments, including Skanderbeg Square, the National History Museum, and the Ethem Bey Mosque. We will also learn about the city's rich history and culture and its transformation from a Communist state to a modern and vibrant city.
