The trip across the lake is considered in many guidebooks as one of the most scenic ones in the world. The lake is an artificial one, which was created after 1974 from the Drini River and in which are built 3 hydropower plants that produce about 60-70 % of the country’s electric needs. After getting off the ferry we drive toward the village of Tropoje and before reaching the village we walk for about 1.5 hours. Accommodation will be in a small guesthouse with en suite bathrooms and shared rooms.

The walk follows mostly the river gorge where in terms of elevation we start at around 550 m and reach an altitude of about 1600m. Usually, it takes about 7 hours to complete the walk. There are plenty of drinkable water sources on the way so there is no need to carry too much water with us. In the afternoon we reach the alpine huts of Sylbice Pastures.
