Tirana

Tirana was founded in 1614 when under the care of Sulejman Pasha Mulleti, the first settlement was built. In the 19th century, Toptans a large family was gaining extensive power in and around Tirana. During this period the local population, who had resisted Ottoman invasions, contributed many distinguished figures to the Albanian Renaissance.

In November 1912, the people of Tirana supporters of Ismail Qemali raised the national flag in the town.
The Albanian Government which emerged from the Congress of Lushnja was seated in Tirana on the 8th of February 1920. Thereafter it became the capital city of the country. Albania’s history is deep and complex, so a walk through the museum of history will help to answer many of your questions about this fascinating country.

Berat

Berat is one of the most historic and oldest cities in Albania. That said, it can easily fill your entire day with beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and deep heritage. This UNESCO-protected site is divided into three large neighborhoods; Mangalem, Gorica, and the medieval castle. The Osum River forms the border between the first two. The medieval castle, amazingly enough, is still inhabited. Overlooking all are the city’s famous windows.

You will visit the archaeological park in an ancient city. Apollonia is located on the banks of the last wild river in Europe, the Vjosa River. Apollonia’s Beauty has attracted many visitors. Considering Apollonia a great and important city of the past. You can see that from the ruins that are almost perfect.

And the Ardenica monastery located on the gorgeous hills of Ardenica. It is one of the most spiritual places you will visit in Albania. Why so remains to be discovered when you are there. It is a hidden jewel and a marvel of Albania’s landmarks.

Saranda

Drive to Saranda through Llogara, Himara, Borsh-Time to swim and lunch in Himara. Visit Porto Palermo Castle. Guided Tour in the Archeological site of Butrinti.

Butrinti is the most important archeological site in Albania and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. It has been known since the 7th century B.C., as the most important city of Epirus. There are many sights to see within Butrinti. The most interesting ones are the Temple of Asclepius (the 2nd century B.C. God of Good Health), a 1,500- seat theater from the 3rd century B.C. Situated 18 km south of Saranda city, it has an area of 2500 km2 and consists of forest, lake, and the ancient city. Butrinti forest covers his entire peninsula with an area of 13 ha. The Lake of Butrint, of former ancient Pelodesi, is one of the tectonic-largest marine lakes of Albania, with an area of 16.3km2 and a depth of 24 m. The clean water, fish, mussels, and wild birds characterize the watershed.

Girokastër
Travel to Gjirokaster and visit Shen Koll monastery-Mesopotam and Syri i Kalter. Visit of old center Gjirokastra, time-off– Overnight in Gjirokastra. Day 06 Korça. Travel to Korça – Visit the Ali Pasha castle in Tepelene. Picnic in the green near Erseka (on group expenses). Walkthrough the old city.
Shkodër
Departure to Shkoder and visit Rozafa Castle in Shkoder. As you walk along the 4th-century Illyrian walls, you will learn about the castle. You will become acquainted with its history, as well as the vivid legend of Rozafa, the woman who was buried alive within the castle walls. Inside the castle, you will see the monument of Rozafa feeding her baby from the walls. Also, you will get to know more about how the ancient inhabitants withstood various occupations.
Day 9. Krujë

Visit the town of Albanian History and learn untold stories. Meanwhile, find yourself in the cobblestone streets that are as old as the town itself. Kruja has a lot to offer.

From the Ottoman-style bazaar, where you can find everything that is handmade to the modern part of the town. Kruja is the town where a lot of historical events happened. Learn how the Ottoman Empire conquered Kruja, and how they lost when Scanderbeg became the head of the Albanian Army.

Observe the museum of Scanderbeg and the Ethnographic Museum of Albania. While Albania is a country that still respects its traditions, in the Ethnographic Museum you will see how different, yet the same the country has remained. Witness how Albanians lived, how they decorated their homes.

Itinerary

The tourist group arrives in the Mother Theresa Airport. Transfer to Tirana by bus. Guided visits in: Scanderbeg Square, Ethem-Beu Mosque, ex-residential area “The Block”, Pyramid, Historical parts of Tirana, Tabak’s Bridge, Historic Museum etc. Overnight in Tirana

Departure to Berat- on the way to Berat we make a stop in Durres to visit the Roman amphitheatre – In Berat we visit the Castle Berat, Onufri Museum and the Etnographic Museum. Overnight in Berat.

Departure to the city of Vlora. En route visit Ardenica Monastery the archeological center of Apolloni and the monastery. Visit the Flag Square in Vlora and free time to swim. Overnight in Vlora.
