In our Dajti Mountain Bike Tour, you will get to visit the mountain of Tirana. Mount Dajti offers the best view from Tirana. So if you enjoy nature and bicycle rides then this tour is for you. This mountain enhances the beauty and landscape of Tirana. Moreover, Dajti is the most accessible mountain in Albania and is a national park. Also, it is the best place in Tirana if you like hiking. The beauty of this mountain is all around the year, with green vegetation and fresh air in the summer, with golden leaves and crispy air in autumn. Meanwhile, during winter it is freezing but bearable and during spring you can smell the flowers from far away.
The guide will meet the group at Scanderberg Square. Please make the necessary arrangements to be at Scanderbeg Square and meet the Local guide at 8.55 AM
The group and the guide will return at Scanderbeg Square and leave the bikes there.
9.00 AM
We will begin cycling from Scanderberg Square and heading toward the Dajti Cable Car. First we will be following the bike lanes recently built around Tirana centre and then make our way up to the start of the Cable Car.
Once there, we will transport the bikes and the group with the cable car up to Dajti Mountain. The transfer lasts about 15-20 minutes as we soak up the views of Dajti Mountain and the outskirts of Tirana.
From the top, after we spend some time at the balcony of Dajti mountain, will start the bike tour and descend downhill towards Surrel, a beautiful area that overlooks the city of Tirana and the Farka lake where you are going next.
At Farka lake we will take a break and enjoy our sandwiches and drinks as we regroup.
The artificial Lake of Farka was built in the 1980s. It is one of the biggest lakes in Albania and it has been used for irrigation. The lake is localized in the southern and south-western parts of Tirana.
The terrain around Farka Lake lies on a surface of 11.000 m2 and a longitude of 760 linear meters. Moreover, this area is distinguished for its biodiversity and the attractive hilly landscape and natural heritage. A part of this heritage is the objects, the landscapes, the ecosystems, the special habitats, the rare relics, the endemic or the endangered species. Being so, they have a special ecological, scientific, cultural, didactic, and touristic importance.
After Farka, we head towards Elbasan Road and end the tour at the same place we started this morning.
